Summer tends to be the most noteworthy season because of the terminal inflorescences of white flowers that bloom for weeks at a time. For winter interest, flower heads can be left on once they turn brown to add texture. Panicle hydrangeas often tolerate a myriad of growing conditions, including tolerances to urban sites, full sun, and better cold hardiness, but do prefer being kept cool (attainable with a layer of mulch). Quick Fire™ was selected for its large, cone-shaped flower heads that fade to dark pink, dense, compact habit, and stiff stems that hold the flowers upright. It is also an earlier flowering cultivar than other panicle hydrangeas. This particular form has been shaped and pruned to grow as a single trunk tree.
