It talks about the green 2:1 and orange 1:1 drain fittings but it doesn't give any information about which one I should use or why. Can you explain?A: The unit comes with two fittings, the Green 2:1 and the Orange 1:1 flow restrictors. These ratios help show how many gallons of drain it will take to create 1 gallon of RO water. Lowering the restriction ratio can save water, and will decrease the life of the membrane. On the other side, the 2:1 Green flow restrictor will increase your waste water, but increase the life of your membrane. Depending on your source water, the Orange 1:1 flow restrictor can be used up to 300 ppm. Anything above that, use at your own risk.
