Triple Scale Glass Hydrometer Accurate, easy-to-read hydrometer with three handy scales. Track Specific Gravity, Brix, and Potential Alcohol so you can follow fermentation and hit your target ABV. Why homebrewers like it: • One tool that covers OG, FG, and quick ABV estimates • Crisp, high-contrast paper scale for fast readings • Calibrated at 20 °C, perfect for most Canadian brew rooms • Stable float that settles quickly in the test jar Key features: • Triple scale: Specific Gravity, Brix, Potential Alcohol • SG range: 0.990 to 1.170, marked in 0.001 increments • Brix range: 0 to 35 °Bx • Potential Alcohol range: 0 to 20 percent • Calibrated at 20 °C • Glass construction for accuracy How to use: Fill a clean test jar with enough wort or wine to float the hydrometer. Check temperature. If it is not 20 °C, apply a temperature correction. Lower the hydrometer gently and give it a small spin to shed bubbles. Read at the bottom of the meniscus. Record SG, or use the Brix or Potential Alcohol scales. ABV shortcut: ABV % ≈ (OG − FG) × 131.25. Example: OG 1.050, FG 1.010 → ABV ≈ (1.050 − 1.010) × 131.25 = 5.25 percent.
