Hydros Sole
Hydros Sole The Hydros Sole is a HYDROS aquarium controller and continuous-duty liquid dosing pump designed for high-volume and long-duration dosing applications in freshwater and saltwater aquariums. It is built for tasks that go beyond small daily additive dosing, including calcium reactor effluent control, kalkwasser additions, liquid food dosing, sulfur reactor feeding, and automated water-change support. With HYDROS app control, Command Bus connectivity, alert capability, and compatibility with other HYDROS devices, the Sole gives serious aquarists a dedicated dosing solution that can work independently or as part of a larger automated aquarium system. HYDROS Sole Continuous-Duty Dosing Overview The Sole is positioned differently from a standard multi-channel dosing unit. Instead of focusing on several small additive channels, it uses one heavy-duty dosing pump intended for continuous-use liquid movement where stable flow, durability, and serviceability matter. This makes it a strong fit for reef systems using calcium reactors, kalkwasser reactors, sulfur denitrators, liquid food feeding, controlled replenishment, or high-volume liquid transfer routines. Its wide dosing range allows it to handle both very small controlled dosing rates and substantially higher flow applications that typical micro-dosers are not built to manage. Because the Hydros Sole is also a HYDROS smart device, it is more than just a pump head with a timer. It can send alerts, connect through the HYDROS app, communicate with other HYDROS devices through Command Bus, and participate in a broader control strategy when paired with compatible HYDROS equipment. When used with an XP8, HYDROS WiFi Power Strip, or HYDROS Smart Plug, the Sole can be part of a larger automation layout that also manages outlets for pumps, lights, feeders, heaters, UV sterilizers, skimmers, and other aquarium accessories. Expanded Sole Dosing and Control Features Continuous-duty liquid dosing: The Sole is designed for applications where liquid may need to move for long periods or at higher volumes than a typical supplement doser. This makes it useful for reactor effluent, kalkwasser delivery, liquid feeding, and water-change style tasks where continuous or frequent operation is expected. Wide pump speed range: With pump set speeds from 0.1 to 300 ml/min, the Sole can be configured for very slow metered dosing or significantly higher liquid transfer. That broad operating range gives it flexibility across reef, marine, freshwater, and utility-system applications. Heavy-duty stepper motor: The robust stepper motor design supports controlled liquid movement while giving the pump the strength needed for more demanding dosing applications. This helps make the Sole more appropriate for reactor and water-transfer work than a light-duty micro-doser. Reverse operation capability: The pump can run in reverse, which can be useful in specialized dosing and liquid-transfer layouts where direction control is part of the plumbing plan. This adds flexibility when routing tubing or designing service routines. 1/4 inch push-fit fittings: Push-fit connections make the Sole practical for installations that use common rigid tubing-style layouts. This is especially useful around reactors, reservoirs, and utility systems where clean plumbing and easy service access matter. Quiet operation: The dosing pump is designed for quiet use, making it suitable for display aquarium cabinets, living rooms, offices, and other areas where loud pump noise would be distracting. Command Bus connectivity: Two Command Bus connections allow the Sole to communicate with other HYDROS devices and become part of a larger HYDROS Collective. This helps the dosing pump work as part of a shared control system instead of operating as an isolated device. HYDROS app control: The HYDROS app allows the Sole to be configured and monitored through an easy interface with alerts and notifications. This helps users manage dosing behavior without complicated controller programming. Control up to eight WiFi devices: When paired with compatible HYDROS WiFi devices, the Sole can participate in broader outlet and accessory control. This supports more complete aquarium automation when dosing needs to interact with pumps, lights, feeders, or other equipment. Internal health monitoring: HYDROS smart devices can report internal operating data such as voltage, current, CPU status, and internal temperature, helping the controller platform monitor both device health and aquarium-related functions. Aquarium-ready construction: HYDROS controllers are built for harsh aquarium environments with rugged housing and secure connectors. The Sole should still be mounted in a dry, protected location with drip loops and safe cable routing. It is a strong choice for calcium reactor effluent, kalkwasser dosing, sulfur reactor feeding, liquid foods, and controlled water-transfer tasks. HYDROS WiFi Power Strip, Control XP8, or Smart Plug accessories are required if the Sole will be used to control external AC-powered devices, and those accessories are not included with this item. Official HYDROS Sole Video Setting Up Your HYDROS Sole Mount the Sole in a dry, accessible location above any reservoirs or plumbing runs where possible, route tubing cleanly, and use proper drip loops on all cables. Connect the device through the HYDROS app, complete firmware updates if prompted, and calibrate the pump with the included calibration beaker before relying on it for dosing. Configure the dosing rate, schedule, alerts, and Collective settings as needed for the aquarium or utility system. What's Included 1 x Sole Controller 1 x Power Supply 1 x Calibration Beaker
