The distillation process is usually performed for the purpose of obtaining an essential oil and the Hydrosol is produced as a separate entity . Hydrosols are also called hydrolats, hydrolates and plant waters but the term “floral waters” can be a misnomer since Hydrosols are not always derived from flowers.
