Hypacrosaurus, which means "almost the highest lizard" in Greek, is pronounced hi-PACK-roe-SORE-us. This dinosaur lived during the Late Cretaceous period, around 70 to 65 million y ears ago, and measured about 30 feet in length, weighing around 4 tons. Hypacrosaurus was a hadrosaur that primarily fed on a plant-based diet. It also had a distinctive pointed crest and spines extending from its backbone.
