When I wrote this poem, I didn’t expect it to find millions of people. This is the original hand-typed version, created on my 1969 Olivetti typewriter and signed by hand. Every cop y is individually typed—not printed—so no two are exactly alike. The tiny imperfections in the ink and spacing are part of what make each one an original piece.
