I’d always been a sketchy kid (no, not in THAT way), doodling all over any scraps of paper I had in front of me — you should have seen my high school and college notebooks. I also have a penchant for the weird and spooky, as anyone who knows me would probably tell you first if you asked. As a younger ghoul, my gateway drug to a love for horror was Tim Burton. He had a way of making everything creepy and crawly also seem cute, endearing, even beautiful (if you haven’t seen the Corpse Bride yet, do it THIS month). I like to do the same thing with the art that I create in my (very limited) free time… when I’m not working in my job as a museum professional, recording my co-hosted horror movie podcast, hanging at Brew Ridge Taps, or playing/watching baseball religiously with my boyfriend. I like cheerfully creepy art made with bright colors and a sense of humor, which is why I created this design — “I Scream”.
