"I Surrender All" is a beautiful hymn written by Judson W. Van De Venter. Van De Venter had a promising career in teaching, but felt God calling him to full time ministry. After struggling between his own desires and the calling God has put on his heart, he decided to yield to his own ambitions and lead the life God wanted him to. He later wrote the words to "I Surrender All", a reflection of that spiritual victory. A close friend Winfield S. Weeden composed the music and was published in 1896.
