Until this point, I had reserved my most personal expressions for my Miccamoo illustrations. However, I stepped away from that platform after confronting an unsettling sense of imposter syndrome; a realization of the impact my work was having on others, accompanied by a fear that I was not qualified or good enough to be someone people could truly connect with. This painting became a quiet declaration to myself. It marked the moment I was ready to accept what I now understand as my inevitable role as an artist.
