Born and raised in Tana River, Ibrahim grew up with five siblings and faced the early loss of his mother. His single father worked hard to raise the children, but financial struggles meant Ibrahim's education was interrupted. He managed to continue his studies after the introduction of the 8-4-4 system and completed school until the eighth grade.At just 14, Ibrahim found his first job as a cleaner at a local restaurant, where he also honed culinary skills. A month later, his determination paid off when he was hired by the Islamic Foundation in Isiolo to prepare meals for orphans. It was in Isiolo that years later Ibrahim met his wife, and together they raised eight children.As time passed, Ibrahim followed his passion for cooking and worked at a local restaurant in Isiolo. Despite the hard work, his hands, now calloused from years of dedication, showed his commitment. Yet, the pay was modest, barely enough to feed his family. Still, Ibrahim remained grateful for the opportunity, always hoping for a better future.However, life took a turn when Ibrahim's health began to fail. Diagnosed with hypertension, he often fainted and found it difficult to continue his work as a cook. His once-strong hands could no longer handle the demands of the kitchen, and he was forced to stop working due to weakness from the illness and old age.Today, Ibrahim lives with his wife and children in a wooden structure provided by a kind well-wisher in the Bula Pesa area. Though grateful, he worries about the possibility of being displaced. Despite his challenges, Ibrahim remains hopeful and continues to have faith in God.Ibrahim has been receiving support from Mama Ibado Charity's feeding and healthcare programs for the past year and a half, which have been a lifeline for his family.
