Each instrument is carved by hand in the MMX workshop to exacting standards. The cello has a spruce top with a two-piece maple back and sides and is finished with an oil varnish to provide optimum protection and an attractive sheen whilst allowing the natural qualities of the wood to show through. The instrument is fitted with ebony fittings and an integrated tailpiece as well as quality strings which give a warm tone.
