Every guide comes with a sticky strip on the back that you will place on the throat of your machine. That sticky strip is made of a rubber silicone, no need to worry about getting nasty adhesive residue on your machine or fabrics. The Ideal Seam guide is thick enough to provide a fence for your fabric as you guide it to the needle. You can re-position the Ideal Seam Guide hundreds of times! It is easy to clean the lint off so it can be re-stickified all over again! When the Ideal Seam Guide loses its grip, simply spray with Fantastic, 409 or any other multi-purpose cleaner you already have at home. Ball up the lint with the pads of your fingers, rinse and air dry. It will get sticky all over again! Be sure not to use a scrubby or your nails as it will scratch the thin strip of rubber that is what is making the guide stick.
