Idols II is the second installment of Yungblud's double-album project, released on February 20, 2026 through Locomotion Recordings/Capitol Records — the same date as Idols (Complete), of which it forms the second disc. It consists of seven tracks: six previously unreleased songs ("I Need You (To Make The World Seem Fine)," "The Postman," "Time," "War Part II," "Blueberry Hill," and "Suburban Requiem") alongside a newly recorded collaboration, "Zombie (feat. The Smashing Pumpkins)," a reworked version of one of the standout tracks from the original Idols. The pairing with The Smashing Pumpkins — one of the most iconic alternative rock bands of the 1990s — underscores the album's deep reverence for that era's sonic landscape. Idols II was released alongside a limited-edition silver transparent vinyl with new cover artwork, distinct from the physical packaging of the original Idols.Thematically, Yungblud described Idols II as the second chapter of a personal narrative that began with the first album. Where Idols Pt. 1 was about pulling himself back from the darkest period of his life and reclaiming his identity, Idols II represents arrival and recognition — the realization, as he put it, that "I'm still alive, that I'm still myself, and the journey didn't take my life from me." The focus single "Suburban Requiem" anchors the release and continues the album's blend of Britpop grandeur and emotionally direct songwriting. Together, Idols and Idols II complete a 19-track, 74-minute statement that critics and fans widely regard as the most ambitious and mature work of Yungblud's career, with the original Idols having already earned him his first Grammy Award for Best Rock Performance in 2026 for his live cover of Black Sabbath's "Changes."
