This research revealed that motors for service robots have distinct requirements compared to those used in other fields such as industrial robots, home appliances, consumer electronics, and automobiles. The committee organized the necessary motor requirements based on the usage and demands of service robots. These requirements were defined along five evaluation axes and quantified as physical quantities that can be used for motor selection and design, enabling their use as specification items. However, quantification alone does not clarify evaluation or measurement methods. For instance, even if backdrivability is listed in catalog specifications, without understanding the physical quantity it represents and the measurement method used, it cannot be effectively applied in robot design. This technical report investigates evaluation methods and measurement conditions, especially for parameters with unclear assessment criteria such as softness, long-duration operation, and instantaneous maximum output. Additionally, since designing motors for robots using these parameters requires optimization considering trade-offs among them, the report also explores these trade-off relationships. Through this work, it is expected that developers and researchers of service robots and motors will be able to communicate their objectives numerically and translate them into concrete requirement specifications.
