The electrical multi-phase model of an example 50 kW interior permanent-magnet synchronous machine (IPMSM) is developed. The transformations and model development procedures are illustrated in context of this example machine. The transformations are also used to reduce the computational complexity of obtaining model parameters via finite element (FEM) analysis.
