In this study, electrochemical nitrate-ion sensors based on Cu-based spinel-type oxide thick-films have been investigated. Spinel-type oxide fine powders prepared by a polymer precursor method at 550℃ were used for screen printing to prepare thick-film devices. Among the spinel-type oxides tested, the CuCo2O4-based device showed relatively good amperometric response to nitrate-ion between 1.0×10-4 and 1.0×10-2 M at pH = 5 among the tested NO3-. Cl-, and H2PO4-.
