Ignite the Night Run
Summer Raptor Run at Interlake SRA It’s time to stretch those live-valve — or non-live-valve — shocks and get some dirt on the tires. We’re putting together an official Summer Run at Interlake State Recreation Area, and you’re invited! This is a completely free, non-paid event designed to bring the Raptor and off-road community together for a day of trail riding, catching up, and seeing what these trucks can do. The only required fee is the one-time park entry fee, paid by each participant directly at the park entrance. This fee is not collected by event staff. Whether you’re a seasoned off-roader or just want to see what your truck feels like off pavement, all Raptor generations and skill levels are welcome. RSVP & Required Waiver Attendance will be tracked through the Facebook event/page. RSVP / Track Attendance on Facebook All participants must complete the event waiver before attending. Complete the Event Waiver Event Location Interlake State Recreation Area Indiana Event Dates Friday, July 31 – Sunday, August 2 Traveling With Family? We want to make this a family-friendly weekend. Depending on headcount and RSVP numbers, we are looking into reserving a block of rooms at a discounted group rate at a local hotel. Please RSVP as soon as possible so we can get an accurate count. If you’ll need a hotel room, please leave a comment when you RSVP so we can negotiate the best possible group rate. Staying Somewhere Else? You are absolutely welcome to stay wherever works best for you. There are plenty of nearby campgrounds and hotels, and no one is required to stay with the group. Our recommendation is to stay in Jasper, Indiana, but you are welcome to do what works best for you. Important Time Zone Notice Indiana uses both Central and Eastern time zones throughout the state. This event takes place very close to one of those time zone lines, which means your phone or truck may switch time zones during the weekend. To minimize confusion, all posted event times will be Eastern Time. We recommend setting your phone or vehicle clock to a known time zone and not allowing it to auto-adjust during the event. Tentative Schedule Friday, July 31 Arrival Day Arrive in town or at your accommodations and get settled in. Optional Evening Hangout There may be a mod evening or s’mores gathering. Details are still to be determined. Saturday, August 1 Morning Meetup at Interlake SRA Time TBD Meet at the main parking lot for group staging, drivers’ meeting, radio check, group photo, and airing down. Trail Ride Begins We will hit the trails as a group. Depending on turnout, we may split into smaller groups based on trail difficulty preferences and group size. Lunch Break Plan for a tailgate lunch or quick trail meal. Please pack your own food, snacks, and plenty of water. Afternoon Ride We plan to rerun many of the same trails we expect to run later during the night ride. Afterward, we’ll return to the main lot and air up for the drive to dinner. No-Host Dinner at RETRO Mexican Restaurant Time TBD We will leave Interlake in the mid-afternoon and convoy back to Jasper, Indiana for dinner at RETRO Mexican Restaurant. Dinner is optional, but you’ll be missing out on some absolutely amazing Mexican food. Hotel Break or Hangout After dinner, you can head back to your hotel or accommodations for some rest before the night run. Those staying in Jasper may also be able to hang out before we leave for the night run portion. Night Run Meetup at Interlake SRA Time TBD If you are with the group, we will convoy back to Interlake. If you return to your own accommodations, we will share the meetup time for the night run. Interlake Night Run We will run the same trails from earlier in the day, but this time you’ll get to use all those lights. We’ll meet in the main lot, air down, and head back onto the trails. Sunday, August 2 Flexible Departure Day You can disperse and head home. Optional Trail Session If enough people are interested, we may head back to Interlake for another trail session. What to Bring Your Ford Raptor, Bronco, or other off-road vehicle Dual-band radio for trail communication MURS/GLRE and GMRS radio capability if available Packed lunch, snacks, and drinks Cooler with plenty of water Standard recovery gear, such as tow straps and shackles, if you have them A good attitude A spirit for adventure We will have a few spare handheld radios available, but supplies will be limited. Radio channels will be determined at the time of the run. And yes, other brands are welcome. We don’t hate on other vehicles… unless it’s a Chevy. Just kidding. Safety & Event Disclaimer This is a casual group meetup. All drivers are responsible for their own vehicles, park passes, safety, and decisions on the trail. Please respect the park rules, drive responsibly, and help us keep this a safe and enjoyable event for everyone. This is a family-friendly event, so please feel free to bring the kids and spouses. With that in mind, there will be a strict no-impaired-driving requirement. We will be in a state park and driving on public roads to and from the event. If you are found to be impaired, you may be asked to leave. This policy applies to all participants and is required for the safety of everyone on the trails and surrounding roads. Please also understand that some of these trails are Jeep-style trails. There is always a possibility of pinstriping, body damage, or other vehicle damage. You are off-roading at your own risk. Event staff, organizers, and participants cannot guarantee that your vehicle will not be damaged. We will do everything within reason to minimize potential damage during the run, but each driver is responsible for their own vehicle and trail decisions. Come ready, be respectful, and let’s have an awesome weekend on the trails.
