IGNITION (1986–1989) featured ALEC MACKAYE (UNTOUCHABLES, THE FAITH, THE WARMERS), CHRIS BALD (The Faith, CHRISBALD), DANTE FERRANDO (IRON CROSS, GRAY MATTER), and CHRIS THOMSON (SOUL SIDE, CIRCUS LUPUS, MONORCHID, SKULL CONTROL). The band played its first show in the spring of 1987 at d.c. space in Washington, DC. Ignition played for three years and toured extensively, including a long European trip, making them one of the first Dischord bands to play overseas. Their shows were chaotic and unpredictable, with one ending before the band had finished even a single song after Chris smashed his guitar and amp in a fit of frustration. This is possibly the shortest set ever played by a DC band. Complete Services, originally released on CD in 1994 and long out of print, compiled the band’s vinyl/cassette discography, and includes an unreleased track of a Vibrators cover.
