Kazuya's Rahou series. Through his distinctive rahou (螺法) spiraling technique, Kazuya takes advantage of the spinning potter's wheel to impart a sense of grace and power to his Biz en Art pieces. Kazuya was able to create the distinctive gradation of dark to light coloring by placing this piece in an ideal area in the kiln during the firing process. The spiraling texture on the surface is further emphasized by the brilliant white on the front side, resulting in a piece which expresses the powerful dynamism of the earth.
