Playwright Anton Chekov had a rule in writing that if the audience sees a gun in the first scene, it has to go off in the second or third scene. It has to be used. This rule is kno wn as Chekov’s Gun. We can watch a movie and recognize that some object or piece of information, if introduced at the beginning of a story, will have to come into play later on. “Remove everything that has no relevance to the story.
