Impatiens repens is a very uncommon species of impatiens thought to be extinct in its native habitat of Sri Lanka. It was just recently rediscovered. A couple of common names for t his plant are “Golden Dragon Impatiens” and “Creeping Balsam”. The small oval leaves are dark green with red on the reverse. The trailing stems are red. The flowers are a bright yellow. It usually blooms in spring, summer, and fall. It will make a lovely hanging basket.
