INSPIRATION: We were on a bike ride as a family, and the evening sky over these fields was pure magic. It was one of those moments I felt torn between: should I gather inspiration for my next painting, or just enjoy this moment with my family? As a working artist and a mom of three, this is a tension I face almost every day: should I be working, or engaging with my family right now? I haven't found a satisfactory answer to this, but the last couple years I'm working at showing up for both art and family imperfectly. I ended up stopping everyone on their bikes, so we could both enjoy this beautiful moment together as a family and gather inspiration. This painting became about embracing imperfection, about embracing two loves in life: work and family. The farmfield speaks to rootedness; the road, to adventure. The clouds seem to converge from two directions, sweeping us into one beautiful, energetic, imperfect harmony. DETAILS: This is a 36x48” original painting. Painted with acrylic on 1.5” deep wood panel, it’s signed on the front and finished with a gloss varnish. This painting is wired and ready to hang—no frame needed. QUESTIONS?
