Product Info The latest instalment in Jasmine's excellent "In Session" series focuses on Wayne Bennett, who earned a huge reputation for his Jazz-tinged, Blues guitar work with Bobby 'Blue' Bland during the 1950s and 60s.He was active as a sideman/accompanist from 1950 until his sad death from heart failure, in 1992, at the age of fifty-nine. Unlike most other accompanists Bennett never recorded as a leader under his own steam, largely because he never viewed himself as a specific genre guitarist. This unique compilation features him backing Amos Milburn, Mr Sad Head, Johnny "Guitar" Watson, Arbee Stidham, Morris Pejoe, Elmore James, Otis Rush, Betty Everett, Bobby Bland and Junior Parker. This is the first compilation of Wayne's session work to be issued under his own name.
