Aside from handmade charcoal by practitioners, this is the best charcoal we have found for incense ceremony. A lot of coals have impurities, or even toxins, in them or at least fir estarters that also influence the aroma of our incense. This brand is pretty decent, especially for the price. We suggest cutting each of these pieces in half, as they are very big, and this will double your mileage. We use a steak knife and saw around on all four sides, creating a groove, and then choose the long side and saw all the way through. (Be patient so they do not break.)
