Indicates Void is the fifth studio album by Steven Wilson under the Bass Communion pseudonym, originally released in October 2005 on the Tonefloat label. This release was highly limited, initially consisting of only 300 12-inch LP copies featuring handmade sleeves in silver and gold editions. In 2020, the album received a cassette reissue via Coup Sur Coup Records. Indicates Void follows a minimalist concept where each of the first three tracks is based primarily on a single instrument source (Guitar, Clarinet, and Voice/Musical Box). The final track, "Piano / Soprano saxophone," is an archival recording from 1998 featuring Theo Travis, while the rest of the material was recorded in 2005. The album is a stark exploration of ambient drone, focusing on the organic decay and tonal shifts of its primary sound sources. Indicates Void originally came out in 2005 in a tiny vinyl only edition, and was later included in a box set compiling vinyl only Bass Communion releases.
