Indole is an important component in perfumery, so much so that "indolic" is a descriptor word commonly used by perfumers. Indole is naturally found in some flowers such as jasmine and orange blossom and is responsible for their heavy (aka indolic) undertones. Indole is therefore very important when creating floral accords in perfumery and it's usually used in trace amounts. Show more
