Inesite is an extremely rare calcium manganese iron silicate hydroxide hydrate found in crystals in just a small number of locations worldwide. One region where exceptional crystal s have been found is the Kalahari manganese field in Northern Cape Province, South Africa in the Wessels mine and the N'Chwaning mines. This superb orange-pink crystalline ball of Inesite with a radial internal structure comes from the N'Chwaning ll mine earlier this century. Externally, the Inesite is much darker with a rough velvety texture, but internally the radiating acicular crystals are pale pink with a silky lustre.
