Travel the infinite distance of your mind. Infinite Distance captures the feeling of being stuck inside a thought and chasing it long after it has stopped being useful. The words sit against a dark, space-like background scattered with tiny coloured stars and bits of cosmic dust. The layered, slightly blurred lettering gives the piece a trance-like quality, as though the thought is repeating, shifting and pulling you further in. ZeTrunk created the work while caught in that stuck-in-thought mode where one idea leads to another, then another, with the sense that an answer might be just a little further ahead. But sometimes it never arrives. The piece is about hyperfocus, looping thoughts and the frustration of trying to solve something that may not have a solution. You chase it, circle it and try to reframe it, but the mind keeps returning to the same place. ZeTrunk’s hand-drawn typography becomes part of that feeling. The words vibrate, overlap and refuse to sit neatly in a straight line, giving the print its restless energy and distinctive character. For anyone who knows what it feels like to disappear into their own head, Infinite Distance turns that experience into something bold, strange and recognisable. On the wall, it brings depth, colour and a slightly hypnotic focal point to a room.
