All one needs to do is slide two halves of the depth stops slide over your bit to the desired stopping point. Then tighten each screw just until resistance is encountered, alternating back and forth until each screw is fully tightened. This ensures consistent grip and seating, even on bits with very large or oddly shaped flutes. No more accidentally overtightening to avoid slipping down or off the bit, or crooked seating.
