A mala is a set of beads commonly used by Hindus and Buddhists for keeping count while reciting, chanting, or mentally repeating a mantra or the name or names of a deity. They are sacred and beautiful and can be worn as a necklace or wrapped around your wrist multiple times. Malas are made with 108 beads and a guru bead. They can be made with fewer beads, such as 18, 27, or 54, which would require the user to make several rotations to complete their full meditation. The number 108 has spiritual significance as it is believed that we have 108 lines of energy in our bodies which converge to form the anahata, or the heart chakra. This mala is made with Crazy Lace Agate, Carnelian and a Crazy Lace Agate guru stone. The silky luxe tassel is gold and cream. The mala is strung on nylon thread and is hand knotted between each stone. Agate is a stone of strength. It balances the yin and yang, female and male energies within all of us. It provides protection, healing, and calm. Agates can remove blockages from chakras. Carnelian restores vitality and motivation and stimulates creativity. It provides courage and motivation for success. Show more
