‘Inscriptions III'’ is an experimental text hand-welded onto mild steel. There are narrative hints, diaristic gestures, associative notes. The heat has warped the sheet: it becomes organic, bodily. The permanence of metalwork here resists monumentalism,instead preserving passing thoughts. On the back of the polished surface, each word becomes alienated: flipped and outlined with blues and smoke from the machine. Everything is glowing. Misspellings, splatter and mechanical accidents give these works a human vulnerability. Show more
