The Waverley Abbey Insight Series is based on one-day seminars held by CWR at Waverley Abbey house to give insight into some key issues that many people struggle with today. Drawing on biblical wisdom and professional expertise, Insight into Shame is packed with case studies, practical insights and scriptural guidelines as to how we can biblically and sensitively address the issue of shame. Experienced counsellor Heather Churchill begins by outlining a theological understanding of shame, which entered our world at Adam and Eve’s sin, and differentiate it from guilt. From there, she explores a psychological framework for how shame develops ad impacts our thinking, behaviour and relationships. Finally, understand how to address shame and how to seek healing for the wounds of the past.
