These are used to "strain" the water entering the Durso Standpipe to keep large objects out (like snails) which might accidentally enter the standpipe and reduce or stop the water from flowing down to the sump. 1.25 inch strainers are designed to slide into a standard 1.25 inch fitting (such as the Durso Standpipe designed for 1 inch bulkheads). This will fit any standard 1.25 inch socket fitting use in DIY standpipes. Easy slide in and easy to remove for cleaning. 1.5 inch strainers are designed to slide into a standard 1.5 inch fitting (such as the Durso Standpipe designed for 1.5 inch bulkheads). This will fit any standard 1.5 inch socket fitting use in DIY standpipes. Easy slide in and easy to remove for cleaning. The strainer is 10 inches long (9 inches of strainer slots) and can take significant built up of debris before showing signs of flow reductions. NOTE: Check and clean your strainers regularly to prevent the debris from building up.
