The Borrowing Costs Master has been now updated to the Intangibles Master where it now handles: 1. Borrowing Costs – now cascades over 11 years to allow for subsequent new borrowings to be added. It also now prompts you if a loan facility has been paid out. 2. Start Up Costs – entities setup after 01 July 2015 may claim their start up costs in full. 3. Black Hole Costs – similar to the Borrowing Costs tab, it cascades over 11 years to allow for subsequent costs to be added. 4. A Website Cost Flow Chart – this is new as well where you answer a series of questions that assists you to navigate the complex rules around the income tax treatment of websites. The flow chart will give you the answers as to whether the costs are outright deductible, capital, Instant Asset Write Off for small businesses and the tax treatment in software development pools. Again, the tab is similar to the Borrowing Costs tab, as it cascades over 11 years to allow for subsequent costs to be added. Each tab now tracks the Total Costs and the Accumulated Amortisation to agree to the financial statements. Also, there are also four tabs that show examples and the best part? This calculator is unlocked, so you can add rows if needed and enter your own formulae in if needed.
