The Integrated Engineering V2 Cold Air Intake replaces the restrictive factory airbox on 1.8T and 2.0T EA888 Gen 3 MQB engines with a high-flow, motorsport-style intake system. Larger piping, a bigger filter and a full-width heat shield open up the intake tract, and induction, turbo spool and diverter-valve sounds come through noticeably louder than stock. Integrated Engineering rates the IEINCI11 intake at up to 15 additional wheel horsepower and 13 lb-ft of torque, with as much as 67% more airflow than the complete factory intake system when it is paired with the optional IE turbo inlet pipe. Actual gains depend on the vehicle, turbocharger, supporting modifications, fuel and testing conditions. Important Compatibility Information Audi A3 with a mass airflow sensor: This intake does not fit A3 applications built with a mass airflow sensor in the factory intake tract, a configuration commonly found on front-wheel-drive A3 models. If you are not sure which intake tract your A3 has, contact your BMP Tuning rep before ordering. Why Upgrade the Factory Airbox? Larger 3.5-inch intake piping reduces flow restriction compared with the stock airbox and tract Built-in velocity stack smooths airflow from the filter into the intake piping Oversized 5-inch air filter adds usable filtration surface area Full-width aluminum heat shield draws cooler air in from the factory grille inlet Noticeably louder turbo spool, induction and diverter-valve sounds Works on stock, tuned, hybrid-turbo and big-turbo builds Reuses the factory mounting locations for a secure, factory-style installation Compatible with vehicles built with or without secondary air injection Open or Enclosed Configuration The V2 intake runs in its standard open-filter configuration or can be finished with an optional lid for a cleaner, more enclosed appearance. Either lid is a bolt-on appearance upgrade and is not required for installation or operation. Integrated Engineering V2 Intake Carbon Fiber Lid Integrated Engineering V2 Intake Poly Lid Optional Turbo Inlet Pipe The V2 intake ships with the coupler needed to run the factory turbo inlet, so no additional parts are required for a stock-inlet installation. For more airflow, it can be paired with the Integrated Engineering Turbo Inlet Pipe, and the kit already includes the separate coupler that connects to it, so it can be added later without buying a new intake. Diverter valve note: The IE turbo inlet pipe does not fit with the GFB DV+ diverter valve or most diverter-valve spacers. This does not affect the base intake when it is run with the factory turbo inlet. What's Included Integrated Engineering V2 intake pipe Full-width heat shield assembly 5-inch high-flow cone air filter and clamp Silicone coupler for the factory turbo inlet Silicone coupler for the optional IE turbo inlet pipe Replacement silicone coolant hose and clamps Secondary air injection adapter and block-off plug Vacuum line fitting Rubber heat shield trim All intake installation hardware Not included: The carbon fiber lid, poly lid, IE turbo inlet pipe and harsh-climate filter sock are sold separately. Installation Integrated Engineering estimates about one hour for installation with common hand tools. The job includes replacing a section of coolant hose, so the engine must be completely cold before starting, and the coolant level and hose connections need a check once the intake is installed. Frequently Asked Questions Does the V2 intake require ECU software? No. It installs and runs on the factory ECU calibration, and it is also compatible with tuned and upgraded-turbo vehicles. Does this intake work with the factory turbo inlet?Yes. The kit includes the silicone coupler needed for the factory turbo inlet. Is the IE turbo inlet pipe included? No. IEINCI10 is sold separately. The kit includes the alternate coupler needed to add it later. Do I need a separate secondary air injection kit?No. The intake includes an SAI adapter for vehicles equipped with secondary air injection and a block-off plug for vehicles without it. Is an intake lid required? No. The V2 intake is designed to run in its standard open configuration. The poly and carbon fiber lids are optional appearance upgrades. Will this fit a 1.4T Golf or SportWagen? No. The V2 intake is built for the 1.8T and 2.0T EA888 Gen 3 engines. It is not the correct intake for 1.4T applications. Does this fit an Audi A3 with a mass airflow sensor? No. A3 applications built with a MAF sensor in the factory intake tract, common on front-wheel-drive models, are not compatible with this intake. Contact your BMP Tuning rep if you are not sure which configuration your A3 has.
