This Item is a Very Rare Intel 3003 Look-Ahead Carry Generator for 3002 Processor in White Ceramic with Gold Plated Pins and Lid as per the Photos. The 3003 is packaged in a 28-pin dual in-line package (DIP). As I am do not have the equipment available to check if this C3003 is operational, it is being sold as is, for collection purposes only. The Date Code on the bottom of the Chip indicates that it was manufactured during in week 4 of 1976 in Malaysia The “CS” Markings on the top of the Gold Cap were Intel’s way of signifying that they were intended to be supplied to their Sales People to give to Prospective Customers as a Sample and as such only a few were marked in this way which makes them Extremely Rare. Note: This Customer Sample has no "C" designation in front of the 3003 which is another feature that makes it so Extremely Rare and means that it is a very early production of this Support Chip. The Intel 3003 Look-Ahead Carry Generator is a high-speed circuit capable of anticipating a carry across a full 16-bit 3002 Central Processing Array. When used with a larger 3002 Central Processing Array, multiple 3003 carry generators provider high speed carry look-ahead capability for any word length. The Look-Ahead Carry Generator accepts eight pairs of active high-speed cascade inputs (X, Y) and an active low carry input and generates active low carries for up to eight groups of binary adders. I can assure any buyers that the prices for these vintage Chips will rise significantly over the coming years as they have done so over the past 30 years so it will be a good investment for them as the majority of the older chips have been scrapped for their gold content.
