Latin for “among other things,” this phrase is often used in legal writing to indicate a list that is incomplete. For this piece, I cut the legal pad on which I keep to-do lists fo r the studio into narrow strips and wove them through a warp of cotton thread. The brown you can see was a spot of spilled leather dye, woven into the handwriting and diagrams, among other things. With the strips slightly wider than my loom, I opted to leave the ends sticking out in frills rather than join them into a continuous cord; the result is a deliciously dense texture that comes loose at the edges, incomplete.
