Unique Interference Quartz from Russia. The formation of Interference Quartz occurs when the growth of another mineral crosses, overlaps, or gets in the way of the growth of anothe r quartz crystal. These crystals were originally quartz. The quartz was replaced by calcite, and then the calcite was replaced by quartz creating a crystal that appears to be broken and shifted yet is still whole.
