Want to expand on your basic metalsmithing skills? Whether you are in it as a hobby or looking to make some money on the side or full-time, this class will provide you the skills to deepen your understanding of metalsmithing. What to expect: You will have your own workstation with all the necessary tools within the workshop. I have room to accommodate six to seven students. There is a flex shaft station for cleaning up your ring at the end of class. We use acetylene torches which is what I learned on. We will be making three separate pieces. We will start with a statement ring. Next we will work on a cuff. The third piece will be earrings. I will guide you through adding accents, etching and/or critters or plant life to your pieces. The photos I provided are examples of the designs you can make in this class. Please bring your own mouth/nose protection. I have a good ventilation system when soldering, but having a face mask or respirator is necessary when working with the flex shafts. My workshop is upstairs. This workshop is located in Tiger, Georgia which is a five minute drive outside of Clayton, GA. Tiger is a small and cute little town with mountain views all around. Clayton, GA has really good restaurants and places to stay. Nearby airports: Greenville/Spartanburg International GSP - 1.45 hour drive Asheville Regional AVL - 2 hour drive (scenic drive!)
