This 2-day intensive course will take you through all of the stages necessary to understand throwing on the wheel. From the initial preparation of the clay, to surface decoration w ith slip at the end - and all the pot, bowl and dish creating in between! With an intimate size of only 3 students per group, an attentive tuition session is guaranteed. Over the 6 hour days, Jenna will introduce a range of different throwing techniques to achieve a variety of shapes. After some practice, you will also be given the opportunity to throw with heavier weights of clay to attempt larger forms. Both days will centre on practicing the skills needed to throw on the wheel, however, day 2 will also involve finishing-techniques like 'turning' and surface decoration. There will be a 45 minute lunch break during the day. 4 pieces of work will be chosen to decorate to a finished standard and keep.
