The Intermediate Kit is for babies 15 pounds and up. This is for you if you prioritize comfort, simplicity and value. Size: 15-28 pounds or from about 5 or 6 months and up. Definition: The diaper is the absorbent part and the cover is the waterproof part that goes over the diaper. Whether you are trying cloth diapering for the first time when baby is a little older or you are tired of reusable plastic one-size diapers or the single use diapering options, this kit will give you what you need to do it both economically and comfortably. No plastic (polyester) next to baby's bottom. The prefolds fit flexibly and are easy to wash. Consider adding a pack of Snappi Fasteners, sold separately. The diapers and the covers in this kit are chosen with baby's comfort in mind. The size Intermediate prefolds are just a little bit less bulky than others, which is nice for fitting under clothes, and also nice for easy washing and faster drying. These items fit and work together well. Do you need to fasten the diaper under the cover? No. You can just lay the diaper in the cover and fasten the cover. But you can fasten the diaper if you want to. We encourage you to give fastening a try! Once you get good at it, you will probably find that it does work a bit better when fastened. Many families fasten sometimes and trifold other times as is convenient. Do what works for you at various times of the day and at various stages of baby's ever-changing development. A fastened prefold diaper is really cute and effective. Learn to pin. Learn to use a Snappi Fastener (sold separately). All of the absorbency is natural unbleached cotton made from organic sourced raw cotton fiber, so you'll need to do several hot wash cycles to prepare them for use.
