Ebru Art About the artist Serpil GURKAN Sydney based artist, Serpil GURKAN specialises in the art of Ebru, painting on water. She also does Miniature and Illumination works, She began learning these ancient artforms during her time spent in the mystical city of Istanbul. She has a passion for working with pure pigments and natural earth colours. At times preparing her own colours by grinding pigments with a muller. She has been exhibiting her work since 2007 in group and solo exhibitions. Solo exhibitions were held at Balmain Watch Gallery in 2012 and 2014. Highlight of art career was when she sold her first artwork on opening night of a solo exhibition to an art professor. She has also held multiple workshops and demonstrations, major ones being for the Girls Scouts Sydney Jamboree 2018 and Collins Debden 200th Anniversary 2019.
