Discover the fundamentals of borosilicate (boro) glassworking in this engaging four-week beginner course. Through guided demonstrations and plenty of hands-on practice, participant s will learn essential torchworking techniques, including cutting and fusing glass, controlling diameter, building and maintaining a gather, and using a punty. Each week builds on the last, with projects progressing from simple shapes like teardrops and hearts to more detailed creations such as fish and hummingbirds. By the end of the series, students will have a strong foundation in flameworking techniques and a collection of handmade glass pieces to take home. Please note: This is a 4-week course, and students must be available for class on September 1st, 3rd, 8th, 10th, 15th, 17th, 22nd, and 24th.
