Description Intumescent block grilles provide 90% free ventilation space which seals completely in the event of a fire. This product contains non-clogging technology and consists of metal plats clad in intumescent and wrapped in foil with a wire-mesh front face. The intumescent material will expand to seal the grille in the event of a fire. Preventing the spread of fire and smoke in ducting and ventilation ducting, doors and walls. This product underwent a fire resistance test employing general procedures and criteria of BS476 Part 22 (1987). Achieved integrity of 240 minutes. Also tested under EN1366-3:2005 – 127 minutes and EN1363-1:2000, EN13501-2:2004 – 120 minutes. Advantages Dependent on the shape of the ventilation gap, block grilles are tailored to fit all shapes, including round, oblong and square. Where needed, the edges of grilles can be sealed with mastic and adhesives. Designed in sizes between 15mm to 38mm depth, with special orders made where required. 90% free ventilation space, suitable for installation in ventilation ducting. Non-clogging. Suitable for installation in ducting/ventilation ducting, doors and walls. Application Instructions The intumescent block grille simply gets pushed into place. Mastic or silicone sealant can be used around the edges if required. Please note: these grilles can be made with lugs to screw into place for ceiling applications if required. Any type of grille front can be used or Envirograf front plates can be supplied.
