The two species Inyoite and Meyerhofferite very rarely appear in the collections we buy, making this quite a unique specimen and one which will be of great interest to systematic c ollectors. These two borates are very similar in composition and appearance and are therefore difficult to differentiate in the same specimen. The majority of the specimen is probably Inyoite with contained zones replaced by Meyerhofferite, this is based on the typical composition from this small occurrence. This miniature composes of a 4.6 x 2.2 x 2.3 stepped rhombohedral crystal varying from colourless and transparent, through milky white, to an opaque light buff interior.
