Purple Hill pushes its rich amethyst purple blooms through cold soil in the earliest days of March to May, small and perfect and completely unbothered by anything the season can throw at it. In borders or pots, its upright stems give borders a sense of discipline and height. At the cutting garden stage, it is one of the most beautiful things you can put in a vase, alone or with other flowers, it holds its own completely.
