“Iris Waves" spotlights the gorgeous Iris! Irises are known for their striking beauty, with their delicate petals and intricate patterns. Iris flowers are often associated with roy alty, wisdom, and faith. Did you know that in ancient Greece, they were considered the symbol of the messenger of the gods, and in Christian art, they represent the resurrection of Christ? I just love how yellow makes the purple flowers sing! I painted this piece in thick layers using a palette knife and texture medium. This process catches light and shadows and creates highly textured dimension to this one-of-a-kind piece. I hope you love this as much as I do! 16" x 12" x 1.5" (sides painted, no frame needed).
