Erica × stuartii ‘Irish Orange’ is a vibrant, evergreen heather prized for its warm, glowing flower color and tidy habit. Forming a low, mounding shrub, it typically reaches about 12–18 inches tall and spreads up to 2 feet, creating a dense carpet of fine, needle-like foliage that remains attractive year-round. The stems of this unusual heath resembles tightly packed "pipe cleaners" of dark green. Then, in April the tips become bright yellow-orange, thus the name. Purple-mauve flowers cover the plant in June through September. From late winter into spring, ‘Irish Orange’ bursts into bloom with masses of rich orange, urn-shaped flowers that stand out brilliantly against the deep green foliage. This uncommon hue brings a welcome brightness to the garden during the cooler months, when color can be scarce.
