Ironorm Drops are a sugar-free liquid iron medicine containing ferrous sulphate. They are used to prevent and treat iron-deficiency anaemia and provide a convenient liquid formulation where tablets or capsules may not be suitable. How to use: For the treatment of iron-deficiency anaemia: Adults: Take 4ml once or twice daily. Children: The dose depends on body weight and should be determined according to the product instructions or advice from a doctor or pharmacist. For prevention of iron deficiency, lower doses are used depending on age and individual requirements. Measure each dose carefully using the supplied oral syringe. Important information: Do not use Ironorm if you have an iron-storage disorder such as haemochromatosis or haemosiderosis, haemolytic anaemia, an active peptic ulcer, inflammatory bowel conditions such as ulcerative colitis, or if you receive repeated blood transfusions. Iron may interact with other medicines and its absorption can be reduced by antacids, some antibiotics, tea, milk and certain foods. Speak to your pharmacist if you take other medicines. Possible side effects include nausea, stomach discomfort, constipation, diarrhoea and dark stools. Liquid iron may also cause temporary staining of the teeth. Contains sodium metabisulfite, which may cause allergic reactions or bronchospasm in susceptible people. Important: Contains iron. Keep out of the reach and sight of children, as overdose may be fatal.
